NOVEMBER 15 VIDEO CONFERENCE

It was fantastic to have another video connection between St. John's and Marlborough Girls' College on 25th November 2015. In particular we enjoyed seeing Jeff Sewell who has visited Marlborough (England) twice in recent years, and chatting with the girls of MGC.

The 40 minute session flew by as conversation jumped from serious issues such as recent world events to more light-hearted topics like music choice, the weather and obviously the Rugby World Cup! Naturally, we were very pleased to be Honorary All Blacks supporters and the shirt given to St. John's was definitely on show!

MGC left us with a serious invite...can we please visit them in NZ!

Big events and Visitors to Marlborough Girls' College

This term we have had a number of big events in our school. Our first was the annual Shakespeare festival. For this we send a group (pictured below) of both Girls and Boys' College students to our capital city (Wellington) for a competetive performance. We have a proud history in this competition including a number of our girls who have won sections of the event and travelled to the Globe in London to perform there.

We also celebrated our annual Spirit Week where we decorate teh school and celebrate all the awesome things that happen around the school! Students give certificates to teachers for various positive reasons and seniors students run competitions and events at lunchtimes and after school.  Students dress in school colours and some staff dress in School uniform!

SKI TRIP 2015 - ALPE D'HUEZ, FRANCE

This year we had another fantastic ski trip in France with 90 students and 13 adults. The conditions were really varied as this year has been a poor season fro snow, but we then had over 48 hours of the most heavy snow at the end of the week.

We use a blog for the week so that family and friends back home can see what we are doing on a daily basis, so rather than put more photos here, perhaps you might like to check out this link:

Hopefully from this you can see that we do a lot of other activities in the evening too!
